The Wegovy pill contains semaglutide, a prescription medicine used for weight management in eligible adults. Semaglutide belongs to a group of medicines called GLP-1 receptor agonists, which act on areas of the brain involved in appetite and fullness.
Unlike the Wegovy injection, which is taken once a week, the Wegovy pill is taken once daily. It is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, following an assessment by a qualified clinician.
The Wegovy pill is available in four strengths — 1.5 mg, 4 mg, 9 mg and 25 mg — allowing the dose to be increased gradually during treatment.
• Contains semaglutide
• Taken once daily
• No injection required
• Dose increased gradually
• Prescription-only treatment
• Used alongside diet and physical activity
Wegovy Pill treatment starts at a lower dose and is increased gradually. This step-by-step approach helps your clinician assess how you are responding to treatment and whether the next dose is appropriate. You will normally remain on each dose for at least one month before moving to the next strength. Always follow the dosing plan provided by your clinician.

The Wegovy Pill offers a once-daily oral option for eligible adults who prefer not to use an injection. It contains semaglutide, a GLP-1 medicine that supports weight management by helping regulate appetite when used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
The Wegovy Pill and Wegovy injection both contain semaglutide and support weight management in eligible adults. The main differences are how often they are taken, how they are administered and the dose strengths used.
Neither option is automatically better for everyone. A clinician can help determine which format is more appropriate based on your health, treatment preferences and ability to follow the dosing instructions.

The Wegovy Pill is taken once daily. Because food, drinks and other medicines can affect how semaglutide is absorbed, it is important to follow the administration instructions carefully.
Take only one tablet per day and use the exact strength prescribed by your clinician. Do not take several lower-strength tablets to create a higher dose.

The Wegovy Pill is prescribed for weight management alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
You may be eligible if you are an adult with:
• A BMI of 30 kg/m² or above, or
• A BMI of 27 kg/m² to below 30 kg/m² and at least one weight-related health condition
Weight-related conditions may include high blood pressure, abnormal blood fats, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease or problems with blood glucose control.
A qualified clinician will review your BMI, medical history, current medicines and previous weight-management efforts before deciding whether treatment is suitable.

The Wegovy Pill is not suitable for everyone. Your clinician will assess your individual circumstances before prescribing.
Treatment may not be appropriate if you:
• Are allergic to semaglutide or any ingredient in the medicine
• Are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning a pregnancy
• Use another medicine containing semaglutide or another GLP-1 medicine
• Have a history of pancreatitis
• Have severe digestive or stomach-emptying problems
• Use insulin or certain diabetes medicines that may require treatment adjustment
• Have significant kidney, liver or eye-related health concerns requiring closer assessment
